Mumbai: The Senior Men's Selection Committee of BCCI announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2017 this morning.

Chief selector MSK Prasad said that Kuldeep Yadav was considered, but with Yuvraj and Kedar in the team, the chinaman bowler missed out. "You are aware that the squad representing India at the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 was to be submitted by 25th April 2017 but the squad has not even been selected as yet".

The squad consists more of the same names which last played against England in an ODI series in January this year. "We can not consider Dhoni's form as batsman only".

Agreed, Rohit might not have played global cricket for some time and also failed in the tenth season of IPL, but he is a class act and can win matches single-handedly for India. "We will groom him for the future", Prasad said.

As of now, Rahane is ahead in the race with his experience in English conditions and possibly a tighter technique against top quality swing bowling that India will face in Muhammed Aamir and Wahab Riaz at Birmingham in the lung opener against Pakistan.
