Fox News has responded to complaints and a legal threat from the family of Seth Rich, the Democratic National Committee staffer who was murdered past year, after the network ran an article connecting Rich and his death to Wikileaks.
The decision comes as Hannity and Fox News have been criticized for reporting an unsubstantiated story about the death of Seth Rich, a Democratic National Committee staffer. More troublingly, it relies on a wholly invented narrative about Rich's tragic death, which appears to have taken place during a late-night robbery gone horribly awry.
On its decision to pull out, Cars.com said: "The fact that we advertise on a particular program doesn't mean that we agree or disagree, or support or oppose, the content". A few advertisers, including Cars.com, have pulled their business from Hannity's show. Last month Fox News' biggest star, Bill O'Reilly, was forced out after more than 50 advertisers dropped his top rated show following the disclosure of a series of sexual harassment allegations against him. "As host of Fox News' Hannity, he has used his platform to advocate for authoritarian tactics toward the press, defend Trump's obstruction of the investigation into collusion between the president's associates and Russian Federation, and attack judges who have ruled against Trump's Muslim bans", MMFA wrote along with the list. The story, which cited "investigative sources", was widely circulated on social media and among conservative news outlets.

A Fox News host is going on vacation as advertisers are fleeing. "As of May 23rd, we have asked our media buying partners not to place Ring ads on The Sean Hannity Show".
"The Five" co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle said on-air Wednesday that she will fill in for Hannity Thursday and Friday, the Independent Journal Review reported.
"There's nothing that I did, nothing that I said, except they don't like my position politically".
Media Matters yesterday published a list of Hannity's advertisers on its Web site.
