'Morning Joe' Ratings See Massive Spike After Trump Tweets

Morning Joe producer Jesse Rodriguez first refuted Trump's claims about low viewership last Tuesday, tweeting an MSNBC press release about the show's impressive ratings.

"Crazy Mika" and claimed Brzezinski "was bleeding badly from a face-lift", the show averaged 1.66 million viewers, almost 70 percent more than its usual audience of just under 1 million viewers, according to Nielsen ratings released Wednesday. That made the MSNBC program the number one cable news morning show of the day, topping perennial victor "Fox & Friends" on Fox News, which drew 1.56 million viewers and 353,000 in the demo. Among his other insults, Trump said the morning show as "poorly rated", which is an increasingly dubious claim.

During his tweets against the show, Trump said "Morning Joe" was suffering from poor ratings.

Where's THEIR plan?" An accompanying tweet attacked Clinton directly, asking for her plan. Includes radical provisions like how not to kick 23 mil ppl off their coverage.

Joe Scarborough added that the attacks on the press also damage Trump himself, noting polls that indicate Americans - outside of the president's base - don't approve of his viciously adversarial stance towards the media.

MSNBC, however, had seen a rise in its ratings in recent months, beating Fox News in weekday night ratings in the coveted 25- to 54-year-old demographic. "Fox & Friends", the show's biggest competitor in its time slot, remains a favorite of President Trump, though the president admitted to watching the program Friday.

Trump attacked Brzezinski on Twitter last week, questioning her intelligence and saying she was "bleeding badly from a face-lift" while visiting his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., around New Year's Eve.
