Raila threatens to boycotts election re-run.

The IEBC said Monday that there shall be no fresh nominations, and the contest will only be between Jubilee party candidate President Kenyatta and his running mate Deputy William Ruto against the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition's presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, and his running mater, Kalonzo Musyoka. The MCAs joined together despite losing the County seats and launched President Uhuru Kenyatta's mashinani re-election campaign.

Chebukati appointed Marjan Hussein Marjan to be the project coordinator.

"I wish to assure all Kenyans of my commitment to ensure that this fresh presidential election is done in accordance with the constitution, the relevant laws and that it reflects the sovereign will of the Kenyan people", Chebukati said.

The IEBC asked the court to release a detailed ruling for its decision Friday to annul the first election, so it can "identify areas that require improvement in the management of the fresh election". The benchmark FTSE NSE Kenya 25 Index rose 0.4 percent, ending five straight days of declines.

The official campaign period of the October 17 presidential repeat elections starts tomorrow.

South Korean president: No more wars on Korean peninsula
There has been worldwide condemnation of Pyongyang's provocations, but Russia's President says more sanctions are "useless". President Donald Trump continues to see the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula as the priority.

He said that he is aware of what transpired in the last elections, and he is not ready to go back in hands of the same commission that cheated him.

Also Tuesday, Kenyatta accused Odinga of "spewing from day one ethnic rhetoric" and having no vision for the country, whose politics and elections have been dogged by ethnic-based allegiances and violence.

It is "an erroneous interpretation of the law that only two candidates will participate in a fresh election", Odinga said.
