Area Fire Departments Warn of Massive Fire Extinguisher Recall

CFES draws attention to fire extinguisher recall

Fire extinguisher manufacturer issues recall for nearly 38 million units

Last week, Kidde in conjunction with Health Canada announced a voluntary recall to replace certain Kidde fire extinguishers. In 2014, extinguishers didn't work for emergency responders who were trying to fight a auto fire after a crash.

After a recent recall of fire extinguishers around the USA, a local fire department explains the importance of having and maintaining the safety product in your household.

The expanded recall involves fire extinguishers not included in previous recalls in March 2009 and February 2015.

WOW air offers £99 flights to NY
In today's announcement, WOW also revealed increased capacity on its existing New York (Newark) route - to 13 flights per week. The airline announced the sale Tuesday as it prepares to launch departures out of New York City's John F.

The possible affected devices may require excessive force to discharge or even fail to activate, according to a Consumer Product Safety Commission press release. Also, the nozzle can come off with enough force to pose an injury hazard. Also, there were about 91 reports of property damage linked to the problem.

Owners should contact Kidde to ask for a replacement and for instructions on how to return recalled models. When checking to make sure your extinguisher is properly working, look at the gauge. Extinguishers are red, white or silver and sold in the USA and Canada through a wide range of retailers.
