His lawyer says he will appeal the guilty verdict.
Court officers then handcuffed Maraj, who had been free on bond, before leading him from the courtroom.
She told jurors that he had previously treated her like a daughter but told her that the abuse was her fault and that she "wanted it to happen".
During the trial, Maraj's lawyer claimed the child's mother, Jelani's estranged wife Jacqueline Robinson, set him up as part of a $25 million (£19 million) extortion plot, just four months after they Wednesday. He contended the rape allegations were concocted by the girl's mother as part of a scheme to get Nicki Minaj to pay the family $25 million in hush money, a claim prosecutors called absurd.
"We hope that today's verdict will help the family in the healing process", Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas tells TMZ.
A jury returned the guilty verdict on Thursday after hours of deliberation, NY Daily News reported.
USA concerned about North Atlantic Treaty Organisation filling troop commitment to Afghanistan
Stoltenberg said the goal is for half of the difference to be USA troops and half other allies. There has been little enthusiasm for the increase among some key European allies.
Maraj's mother, Carol Maraj, declined to comment while leaving court.
Maraj's ex-wife vehemently denied this allegation. She did admit to beating her children at times and to drinking alcohol excessively and frequently drinking and driving in 2015. The girl's little brother testified that he witnessed an assault, and the girl gave a very graphic testimony. When he said "yes", Maraj repeatedly slapped him in the face and threatened that he would never see his mother again if he told, the boy testified. Robinson, who filed for divorce a year ago (16), denied the allegations during her testimony, while the court also heard evidence from the alleged victim and her younger brother, who claimed he walked in on Maraj assaulting the girl, who did not take the witness stand.
But the defense told jurors the trousers were either cross-contaminated with other laundry, or the accuser's mother may have purposely rubbed Maraj's underwear on them.
"She was never involved as far as what we did", he testified. Maraj, the boy said, told him to stay silent or he would be taken from his mother, says Brosh. Additionally, the defense said it might have been contaminated with different laundry.
The judge set sentencing for December 14.
