Carrie Underwood suffers broken wrist after 'hard fall,' rep says

Country music star Carrie Underwood is recuperating from injuries sustained in a fall on steps outside her home.

The Before He Cheats hitmaker's representative reveals she was hospitalised on Friday (10Nov17) and treated for "multiple injuries", including cuts and bruises, after the accident.

Due to her injuries, Underwood is unable to play the Country Rising benefit concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Sunday night, The Tennessean reported.

Underwood's husband, former Nashville Predators player Mike Fisher, was out of town at the time of the fall, but he returned overnight to come to his wife's side.

Country music star Carrie Underwood thanked fans Sunday as she recovered at her home in Nashville from a fall that prevented her from performing at a benefit that night.

However, she explained that her recovery would undoubtedly take some time. Underwood, 34, married pro hockey star Mike Fisher, 37, in July 2010.

The concert is raising money for the victims of the Las Vegas shooting, and hurricane victims in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands. Underwood said she's grateful for her compassionate husband.

At first, the singer was hesitant about meeting up with him but eventually agreed.
