McLaren Honda Formula 1 Team's Fernando Alonso said he was happy achieving seventh in Qualifying for Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix.

Fernando Alonso stood by his auto and applauded Massa as he came into the pit-lane for the final time in Brazil.

"Renault is the best engine company in the past 15 or 20 years if you see all the world championships so l don't think we should be too anxious", he said.

"I'm really emotional today because of all of you guys", the senior Massa said.

"We had a fantastic auto all the race through but we could not overtake", said Alonso.

"Last year I had such incredible emotion, walking through the pit lane, but I was missing the result".

"If tomorrow is dry like today, it will be tough to get into Q3, there's a good number of candidates fighting to get there and we're among them, but it will be hard". Wherever you go I will support you. Awesome start, then managed to overtake a few cars after the Safety Car.
