Now "House of Cards" will move ahead for the final season but there could still be more as a couple of spinoffs are currently in the works that may eventually get picked up at Netflix in the future.

The streaming services chief content officer Ted Sarandos has told media that Golden Globe victor Robin Wright is set to take the reigns of the dark political drama next year.

He said: "We are excited to bring closure to fans". In early November, Netflix went a step further, announcing that the service would no longer work with Spacey, also deciding to shelve the release of the actor's Gore Vidal biopic, a Netflix original feature film that was already in post-production this fall.

Kevin Spacey has been accused by "Star Trek: Discovery" actor Anthony Rapp of making an unwanted sexual advance towards him when he was 14-years-old.

It's understood that Apple will start paying the €13 billion in back taxes into an escrow account in first quarter of 2018.

Scotland Yard is investigating Spacey, who was artistic director at London's Old Vic theatre, over two allegations of sexual assault while he also faces claims of "on-set sexual misconduct" by members of the House Of Cards production crew.

Sarandos did not clarify how the show will deal with the focal character of Frank Underwood, who was played by Spacey for the last five years.

In the Michael Dobbs book that inspired the streaming giant's series, the character of Frank Underwood dies, so it is speculated that he will be written out off screen before the beginning of the upcoming series.

Spacey was "taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment" after allegations surfaced, according to a representative.
