Highlights stay on your profile until you remove them, and you can have as many highlights as you'd like.
Stories Highlights will enable more customization and self-expression on profiles than ever before - whether sharing the best moments with your dog, your recent family vacation, or a collection of your silliest selfies.
The other major update is Story Highlights, which lets you display your favorite archived Stories on your profile. Unlike traditional stories, highlights don't disappear after 24 hours, they only go away after you delete them. You can save your highlights into individual Story reels which appear as circles on your profile.

The new feature, simply called Wallet, allows users to pay for items at Target stores by scanning their phones at checkout. The company eventually sold the technology behind the system to Chase, which then turned around and launched Chase Pay.
That day-long deadline has been a central part of stories since they launched, with the idea that they would disappear quickly and encourage people not to overthink their posts. And in case you were wondering: yes, unless you choose to opt out of using Archive, every single Story you make will be automatically added to your Archive.
The second feature that is coming to Stories is called Archive. For those that don't want the auto-archive feature, you will be able to turn it off. Just select a story in the archive to view it. Then, when someone visits your profile, they see it as one Story under that name. "To edit or remove a highlight, just tap and hold that highlight on your profile". There will be a new icon for the Archive feature on your profile which will let you access all of that content. The new features will be available in version 25 of Instagram for iOS and Android.
