The Finnish company, which has released several devices this year after acquiring Nokia, is holding an event on January 19, 2018 in China and the much-hyped Nokia 9 is expected to be announced on the day, according to a report by My Drivers site (in Chinese). Both will be redone for China market, which likely involves extraordinary ROMs where Google services have been supplanted by local choices.
A few days ago, it was rumoured that HMD Global would not launch any new Nokia smartphone in 2017, but the first smartphone from HMD Global next year was said to be a flagship smartphone. It doesn't look like the Nokia 9 would have a full-screen display, however, the second gen Nokia 8 has been tipped to have an 18:9 aspect ratio screen. But it won't be alone it seems, as there are also plans to launch a re-booted Nokia 8 alongside.
If earlier rumors to be believed, the Nokia 9 will feature a 5.5-inch QHD display. Chances are that we may see Nokia 9 is two variants - one with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage while the high-end version of the phone may boast a 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Alongside the launch date and images of the Nokia 9, some of the specs and also the price of the phone have been leaked online. The case also revealed that the handset will have finger print sensor and dual camera setup. On the other hand, the 128GB model of the phone may be priced somewhere around CNY 4,199, which may roughly translate to Rs 40,826.

In response to user query over the company's firmware roll-out programme for the device on Twitter, Juho Sarvikas, Chef Product Officer for HMD Global, revealed that Nokia 3 will straight jump to Android 8.0 Oreo.
Both the Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 (2018) are expected to have dual cameras at the back and have IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
