The Golden Knights defeated Memphis 62-55 in double overtime to win the American Athletic Conference Championship Game Saturday afternoon.

The game will be played in the new state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz Stadium and home to the NFL's Atlanta Falcons.

There's reason to believe Auburn can make it back there again, and not only because it will play its next two games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium - the January 1 Peach Bowl against UCF and the 2018 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game against Washington.

UCF will come into the contest with the nation's highest scoring offense at 49.4 points per game and the seventh best passing offense in the country behind sophomore McKenzie Milton, who has 15 touchdowns and four interceptions in the last four games.

"It's interesting, we really work hard during the year to sell a lot of tickets, when you put the 12,500 allotments on top of that, we are really down to less than 2,000 upper level tickets", Stokan added. Both those teams made it to the playoffs and the Bulldogs beat Auburn 28-7 in the SEC title game Saturday in Atlanta.

"Our program is more stable than it's been in any of the eight years I've been here before", the coach told ESPN, also referencing the three years he spent as the team's offensive coordinator from 2009-11.

Arkansas fired Coach Bret Bielema minutes after closing its 4-8 overall/1-7 SEC season in a 48-45 loss to Missouri Nov. 24 in Fayetteville after firing Athletic Director Jeff Long on Nov. 15. Off the bat, that would give Auburn the conference's second-leading passer and top rusher. The Tigers are the first-ever team to defeat two College Football Playoff No. 1-ranked teams in the same season. We've got a very good staff, and it is set up for us to win championships.
