F-22 Raptor Struggles During Korean Peninsula War Games

Joint US-South Korea military drill is dangerous warns Pyongyang

Joint US-South Korea military drill is dangerous, warns Pyongyang

"In the country's defense Ministry said that the joint exercises aimed at improving all weather, day and night the interaction between air forces of South Korea and the United States".

The U.S. sent its most advanced stealth fighters as part of a massive contingent of air power to the Pacific for a war game this week that may be more about sending a message to North Korea than training with allies.

According to South Korean media reports, other assets include USAF B-1B Lancer bombers, six EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft, and dozens of F-15C and F-16 fighter jets.

On Monday, China's air force spokesman Shen Jinke told reporters that an air force drill was recently conducted in airspace over seas surrounding the Korean Peninsula, with aircrafts taking "routes and areas it has never flown before".

North Korea warned that a mass air force drill this week would push the world to "the brink of nuclear war".

United Nations seeks access for probe in Myanmar, talks of 'possible genocide'
Myanmar has not granted the investigators access to Rakhine, the northern state from which the Rohingya have fled, he said. He also is calling for an global investigation to bring to justice the perpetrators of these crimes.

On Dec. 4, the US and South Korea kicked off their largest joint air exercise yet, dubbed Vigilant Ace 18, involving hundreds of aircraft and tends of thousands of troops on the ground.

A recent F-16 training mission involved flying up 13,000 feet at almost 500 miles per hour along a Japanese mountain range and, seconds later, diving down to the surface of a lake.

This year's Vigilant Ace is being conducted on the largest scale to date, involving over 230 aircrafts including a number of F-22 stealth fighter jets.

Earlier this summer, with Pyongyang vowing to destroy the United States territory of Guam after Donald Trump threatened North Korea with "fire and fury", B1-Bs conducted joint drills with Japan in airspace near the Korean peninsula. Around 12,000 USA service members, including from the Marines and Navy, will join South Korean troops.

Just as this is not the first time North Korea has threatened retaliation for military exercises, it's not unique for America to deploy sophisticated aircraft amid North Korean belligerence. In July, the DPRK twice tested ballistic missiles, on August 29 and September 15, carried out two more rocket launches that flew over the territory of Japan, and on September 3 announced the successful testing of the hydrogen charge.
