Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, who is also the Rajya Sabha Chairman, on Monday disqualified rebel Janata Dal-United leader Sharad Yadav and Ali Anwar as members of the upper house of Parliament, party leader R.C.P. Singh said.
"It has become a trait of Nitish Kumar to use people and dump them. He did that to me when he approached me for an alliance after biting the dust in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and later, ditched us to join hands with the BJP", he told reporters here.
The JD (U) had sought their disqualification on the grounds that they had attended a rally of opposition parties in Patna in violation of its direction.
The House chairman had agreed to the JD (U)'s contention that the senior leader had given up his membership by defying the party's directives and attending events held by Opposition parties.
Naidu said in his communication that both leaders ceased to be Rajya Sabha members with immediate effect.
