Rumors have swirled about Arkansas' interest in Gus Malzahn for weeks, and they hit a fever pitch in the days leading up to the Saturday's SEC Championship game.

No details are available on the length or amount of the Malzahn contract with Auburn, but it appears that Arkansas officials are now looking to their second choice for the head coaching job.

No. 7 Auburn will face No. 12 UCF in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on New Year's Day.

According to a report by Auburn beat writer Brandon Marcello, Gus Malzahn has agreed to terms with Auburn and will not be the next head coach at Arkansas.

Auburn is 45-21 over the course of Malzahn's five-year tenure, which began following the firing of Gene Chizik after the 2012 season. This likely bodes very well for Georgia and its College Football Playoff chances. "We have great players".

Auburn has also brought in a top-10 recruiting class in every year of Malzahn's tenure and is on track to bring in another in 2018.

"Yeah, I'm happy at Auburn", Malzahn told reporters after the game Saturday, via Dodd.
