2017 saw several feature-rich smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Moto G5 Plus, Huawei Honor 6X, Xiaomi Mi A1 and others being released in India but it will appear as though they are one year old when 2018 sets in a few weeks from now. The Redmi 5 series is getting a fresh design. Similarly, the Redmi 5 Plus is said to cost $249.99 (approximately Rs. 16,120) for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage option. Aggressively priced at Rs 9,999 for 2GB RAM + 32GB storage, Rs 10,999 for 3GB RAM+32GB storage, and Rs 12,999 for 4GB RAM+64GB storage, the device sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density). Both the new smartphones will be available in Pink, Gold, Blue, and Black. Contrary to this, the TENAA listing shows Redmi 5 to be available in 3 GB+32 GB and 4 GB+64 GB.
The Redmi 5 will arrive with 5.7 screen with the popular FullView display with 18:9 ratio.
The smartphone is backed by a 3200mAh battery and will run on Android 7.1.2, with MIUI 9 skin on top.
Dead & Company Postpone Remainder of Fall Tour
All tickets will be honored at the rescheduled dates, the info of which should be released in the coming weeks. The Dead & Company concerts scheduled for December 7 in Orlando and December 8 in Sunrise are postponed.
Xiaomi's Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus is scheduled for December 7 and the company is expected to bring the new devices to India soon after the launch. Both devices will come with 12MP cameras and it is worth pointing out that both processors are on based on a 14nm process for a more frugal operation. The phone will be offered in a choice of 3GB and 4GB of RAM with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage, respectively. Xiaomi has remained mum on the specs and pricing so far, barring some key confirmations such as the 18:9 display, MIUI 9, and a massive battery.
Like the Redmi 5, the Redmi 5 Plus also bears a 5-megapixel sensor up front with LED Flash and Beautify 3.0, while the rear sees a 12-megapixel sensor with f2.2 aperture. The dual sim smartphone houses a 3,000 mAh battery.
