"IT" actor Jack Dylan Grazer has joined the cast of David Sanberg's "Shazam!" at New Line Cinema and DC Films, according to Heat Vision. He'll be heading to the DC Comics' movie Shazam! in a supporting role.
The young actor joins the cast which now features Zachary Levi as the titular superhero, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Grace Fulton, and Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana. In the comics, Freddy is Freddy Freeman who, in the New 52 continuity, is part of the foster family alongside Billy. In the comic books, Freddy has also assumed the identity of Captain Marvel, Jr., as well as Captain Marvel/Shazam.
Email Bares Offer of Hacked WikiLeaks Docs to Trump Campaign
The idea is that WikiLeaks posts a data file on the Internet, but it is encrypted and impossible to open without the key. It's unclear whether the September 4 email has any links to the younger Trump's direct message exchanges.
This may not be the way the live-action movie plays things out with Freddy and Billy, but it'd certainly be a way to tug at the heartstrings and connect both the superhero and childhood storylines of the title character.
According to Deadline, Grazer will play a character named Freddy, the best friend of teenager Billy Batson (Asher Angel) and the only person who knows that Batson can transform into the adult superhero Shazam (Zachary Levi) simply by saying his name. It could even lead to a future team-up for Freddy and Billy if all goes well... Filming is expected to start next year.
