The latest update makes things even simpler as Google Maps gives you live guidance and interactive real-time notifications during your journey.
Most importantly, this new update will notify you when to get off your bus or train when you're closer to your stop.
With the help of this feature, Google Maps will be able to give its users real-time updates during transit by showing these updates on the Android lock screen. The notifications will be interactive and will keep you up to date when out on a journey. The new addition can be found when you do the usual search for your transit directions in the app. This will enable you to get live updates as you ride in your local trains on buses. Just the ideal feature for a traveler that knows little or nothing about his destination.
With this update, transit notifications become a bit more like using Maps for walking, biking and driving.
These features will be particularly useful when traveling to a new location or when you are on a long journey and can fall asleep.
Commuting definitely isn't a fun experience, and it's easy to miss a stop or get lost if you're exhausted or haven't been somewhere before, but Google's latest Maps update aims to fix this.
This update would soon be rolling out and chances are that Google might already be testing this update outside its trusted tester community.
Google Maps recently introduced the "Two-wheeler mode" under which bikers get the fastest route to reach their destination. The "P" notification will remain until you hit the "Clear" button or until you save a different parking spot.
