Mazda Rotary Engine Could Serve As Range Extender For Toyota

Toyota and Pizza Hut are teaming up to make self-driving cars that could deliver pizza

The vehicle was developed with Toyota and the companies plan to debut it in 2020.

Toyota Corporation President, Akio Toyoda, announced a new mobility service business alliance and e-Palette concept vehicle created to meet the demands of future multi-mode transportation and business applications.

The pizza chain recently unveiled its plans to team up with Toyota to develop the world's first self-driving pizza van at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

In terms of vehicular control, technology providers can take advantage of the e-Palette's open vehicle control interface, enabling partner companies to install their own automated driving systems and vehicle management technology. Toyota's so-called "guardian" technology will then act as a safety net, the company said.

"This announcement marks a major step forward in our evolution towards sustainable mobility, demonstrating our continued expansion beyond traditional cars and trucks to the creation of new values-including services-for customers", Akio Toyoda, Toyota president and board member, said. The e-Palette is a fully autonomous electric bus that can be customized for different uses within urban environments.

Bella Thorne: 'I was sexually abused' throughout childhood
Actress Bella Thorne spoke out in an Instagram posted Sunday about being sexually abused as a child. Thorne revealed that she was sexually and physically abused from as early as she can remember.

Toyota hopes for the vehicle to debut at the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

'With Toyota, we are excited to be partnering with an undisputed leader in human mobility with a reputation for innovation, reliability and efficiency, as we define the pizza delivery experience of the future'. It is a fully automated, "next generation-battery" electric vehicle (BEV) created to be scalable and customisable.

Toyota Motor Corp. has enlisted Amazon and Uber for its futuristic e-Palette business alliance that it said could one day help make autonomous e-commerce deliveries a reality.

The automobile industry is clearly amidst its most dramatic period of change as technologies like electrification, connected and automated driving are making significant progress. "We are about making it easier to get a better pizza and Toyota is about providing mobility for all".
