Now upcoming movies Gambit and The New Mutants have been pushed back, but should fans worry?

Deadpool 2, meanwhile, has moved forward to May 18, and thus will be with us two weeks earlier. It's unclear if the deal will affect the Kitty Pryde plans, as Disney officials are also keen to reunite the X-Men with fellow Marvel characters The Avengers in future superhero blockbusters.

Nintendo Direct showcases new games, updates and remasters
The first wave, coming out on January 31, will introduce Aegislash and a support set for Mega Rayquaza and Mimikyu. While it's previously been released for PS4 and Xbox One , this will be your first chance to play it on the go.

What are the reasons for these delays exactly? Its director, Gore Verbinski, just bowed out of the project and the studio is now searching for a replacement. Well, for New Mutants, The Wrap has reported that while the test screening for the new film was decently enough received, it did not meet studio expectations of how scary it should be. And Gambit's director recently left the project, again, leaving the film on the search for a new one, and potentially needing a bit more time. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio hopes to avoid an overlap with X-Men movies in overseas markets, where The New Mutants and Deadpool 2 would have been in theaters at the same time. Verbinski joined the project in October following Rupert Wyatt's departure in October 2015 and Doug Liman in August 2016. There are a lot of theories going around about why the move was made, including the idea that it was moved into 2019 so it would have more room to breath. He just might be able to pull this off, and he's also been looking to get behind the camera, developing potential directorial debuts such as Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock and The Son.

Moving New Mutants into 2019 also reduces the number of X-Men properties released this year from three to two (Deadpool and X-Men: Dark Phoenix).
