The Palghar SP Manjunath Singe confirmed that 32 children were rescued and the hunt was on for the remaining.

4 children died in a mishap which occurred this morning off the cast at Mumbai when the boat in which they were travelling capsized. Dahanu is about 100 kilometres away from the Mumbai city where the incident took place. It is feared that the death toll may rise as children had capsized more than three hours back.

The students of KL Ponda school, all from Class 11 and Class 12, in Dahanu were at the beach for a picnic.
