Huawei failed to make a deal to sell its new smartphones through the US operator

US lawmakers in December inked a letter to the Federal Communications Commission that outlined longstanding concerns that Huawei's products could be used to spy on the USA and the company's presumed ties to the Chinese government.

The collapse of the deal coincides with U.S. politicians expressing concerns that Huawei is a security threat.

While Huawei does sell its smartphones in the USA, it does so without the benefit of a partnership with any of the country's four major wireless carriers, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless.

AT&T has reportedly backed out of its initial deal with Huawei, but the Mate 10 Pro will still be sold in the United States through a number of online stores. Huawei had also instigated legal action in Beijing, though the results of that is unclear.

Meanwhile, The Information claimed to have obtained a copy of a letter that was written by the U.S. Senate and House intelligence committees and was sent to the Federal Communications Commission dated December 20, 2017.

Medtronic Scolded for Calling Taiwan a Country
USA -based Delta, Spanish clothing chain Zara and US medical device maker Medtronic were targeted, the Liberty Times reported . In recent weeks, Taiwan has reported increased incursions into its airspace by military planes from China.

In a statement Tuesday, Huawei said it has proven itself by "delivering premium devices with integrity globally and in the US market" for five years and looks forward to introducing new products to the USA market.

"I think it's quite a big loss for us and also for the carriers, but it's more of a big loss for consumers", Richard Yu, chief of Huawei's consumer business group, said during a CES keynote.

"The U.S. market presents unique challenges for Huawei, and while the HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro will not be sold by U.S. carriers, we remain committed to this market now and in the future", it said. More big loss is consumers. Last year, Huawei sold 153 million smartphones. But it has never managed to crack the U.S., and the firm will have to rethink its expansion plans after this latest blow.

Huawei's also got a winking bit of kinship with the actress in that both parties have had some issue with pronunciation here in the States, a fact that will play a role in the company's upcoming marketing. "We have flexibility in who we support today, so adding Huawei, in addition to Apple and Android, would be nice", the channel partner said. Huawei eventually established a United Kingdom office, overseen by the government, to investigate its own kit for security flaws.
