Other than the aesthetic differences, the device is identical to the 8GB variant of the midnight black version.
The new Lava Red variant has a red color accent as the name suggests.

It is worthy to note that the new colour variant is only available for the 8GB/128GB variant of the OnePlus 5T. OnePlus had launched this variant in China back in November. The company has used a mixture of double blasting, 2 anodic oxidation processors, and AF coating to achieve the phone's shiny red coat. It also recently introduced Star Wars edition in India last month. Building on that momentum, OnePlus this week brought OnePlus 5T Lava Red edition to India. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with Oxygen OS on top. To recall, the OnePlus 5T Lava Red edition comes with a 6.01-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. On the front is another 16-megapixel sensor. Camera wise the OnePlus 5T is well endowed with a dual lens rear camera setup (20MP+16MP) and also offers an advanced Portrait Mode. OnePlus 5T smartphone gets its power from a 3300mAh battery. OnePlus has baked in a new FaceID feature that adds yet another way to authenticate users on the device. The phone comes with a Dash Charge technology and there is a fingerprint sensor too on the phone.
