Padmaavat row: Karni Sena members protest outside CBFC office; get detained

Deepika's 'Padmavati' officially gets renamed as 'Padmaavat'!

The producers on Wednesday said only five "modifications" were recommended by the censor board which they have accepted and implemented. Rajput group Karni sena has now chose to call protest all over the country on the day of Padmaavat release by the name of janta curfew to stop the release. The period drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been renamed as Padmaavat after the suggested modifications given by the CBFC.

The workers were detained while they were protesting outside the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) office against the film Padmaavat, which is set to be released on January 25.

"CBFC's process is complete and any further news about cuts is absolutely untrue. When I look back at this year, it has been one of the most exciting years in my career - to be doing "Padmavati", to be a part of a film which I really believe is going to be historic and remembered, if I may say so", he said.

CBFC had given the Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer a U/A certificate and suggested numerous changes including changing the title, from Padmavati to Padmaavat.

The researchers also tested for listeria and salmonella bacteria, and found them in 43% and 20% of the samples, respectively. This isn't the first time researchers have warned pet owners against raw meat-based diets.

Prasoon Joshi-led CBFC made a decision to give U/A certificate to the period drama starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

This film got into a controversy after Rajput groups claimed that it distorts history.

The film, mired in controversy over its plot line, has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which has asked its makers to change the title and suggested other modifications.

Some of the earlier speculations had stated that the film will be named as Padmavat, after the 16th century poem that the film is reportedly an adoption of. The Karni Sena has also been reportedly demanding the resignation of Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of CBFC. The historians were astonished whether Padmini actually existed.
