Sons of Anarchy's Chris Collins plans to pen the script and serve as showrunner.
The original John Wick film, starring Reeves as the title character, was released in October 2014, becoming somewhat of a surprising success, grossing $88 million worldwide. While Reeves is attached to make some appearances, the TV adaptation will (as the name suggests) focus on The Continental Hotel, a refuge for the film's assassins that offers a host of new mysterious stories and characters.Читайте также: Walmart closing two Sam's Club locations in Virginia, laying off 300
Continuing the cross-pollinating nature of film and TV, Starz announced Friday it is developing "The Continental", a drama series spun out of the action-movie franchise "John Wick". "John Wick" star Keanu Reeves is expected to appear, eventually.
We've been hearing about a potential John Wick spin-off series ever since I interviewed Chapter 2 director Chad Stahelski this time past year. Numerous executive producers, however, are from the the films' original creative team, like Basil Iwanyk, co-director Chad Stahelski, and screenwriter Derek Kolstad. The Continental will be a series about the film's hotel chain built for assassins. Moreover, the show aims to include "thunderous fight sequences and intensely staged shootouts between professional assassins and their targets".
At the time a year ago, Stahelski said "It's very tied to the film [in that] it's about the Continentals all over the world, how certain people come into that world, and what happens in relation to those people, which is cool". I think the world is very vast, and everything I've heard from it is very positive.
The third John Wick film is set to be in theatres May 17th, 2019 and Lionsgate picked up the rights to a script called The Ballerina that is meant to be worked into the universe, as well.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
