Cardi B Defends Offset After 'Queers' Lyrics Controversy

"It has a different vocabulary on the dictionary", she explained.

Cardi took to Periscope to defend Offset's claim that he was unaware "queer" was a slur for gay people when he rapped, "I can not vibe with queers" on the YFN Lucci song "Boss Life".

Cardi B defended that point, saying she's never seen her fiancé act differently with members of the LGBTQ community.

For one, Cardi B addresses those who have called her transphobic over using the word "tranny", and it sounds like she's pleading ignorance to this.

In a video posted to her social media yesterday, the rapper talks about accusations of transphobia and her ignorance to which words were hurtful to the LGBT community, while also opening up some about Offset and while she's still defending him after so many issues and controversies lately. She added, "Our schools never teach us that these are bad words".

So instead of acknowledging what Offset did was wrong, the "Finesse" star chose to strictly defend her man. "Now, that's a word that you guys say that it's a bad word for gays - I never even heard that word in the first place".

Offset however apologised in a statement last week.

Folks took that to mean that Offset hates gay people and is homophobic and a discussion erupted on Twitter. I have said before since these issues before that I got love for all people.

"When I wrote that I was thinking of words that could rhyme with the others and I saw this definition about her having a queer feeling she was being watched and it fit what I was thinking about a stalker creepy paparazzi situation".

'To me that "queer" I don't mean someone who's gay. "Lingo that means unusual or odd (sic)".

Fans of the Grammy-nominated artist probably remember that she also received backlash previous year when she used the slur "tranny", which later led social media users to call her transphobic.

The Bodak Yellow rapper blasted her fiance after she confirmed he'd cheated when his iCloud was hacked, revealing images - reportedly taken in September - of him with another woman in a hotel bathroom.
