French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said the "demands" placed on Europeans by US President Donald Trump in connection with the nuclear deal with Iran "are sometimes resembling ultimatums", the France press reported. At the European Union summit, "we will have the opportunity to reiterate our concern about today's attempts by Iran to destabilize the region, whether Yemen, Lebanon or Syria", said Le Drian.
"We will also have the opportunity of underlining our firmness on Iran's compliance with United Nations Resolution 2231, which limits access to ballistic capacity and which Iran does not respect", Le Drian was quoted by Reuters as saying. The European Union has formerly said it can not be renegotiated.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran would definitely not bow to pressure and would not change its stances when facing strict policies", Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi said at a press conference in Tehran on Monday.
In the January 22 interview, Le Drian says a key topic of discuss with Zarif will be the 2015 nuclear deal, which provided Tehran with relief from financial sanctions in return for curbs on its nuclear program. He said, "We have a team traveling - actually, they're coming to Europe....how we can address these flaws in the nuclear agreement. but also how can we cooperate more on countering Iran's activities that are not related to their nuclear program".

Europe's "concessions" make Trump less committed to nuclear deal - Tehran Iran's ballistic missile program is not up for negotiation, top Iranian officials have restated, criticizing next week's United States diplomatic mission to Europe with a mandate to revise and "fix" the landmark 2015 nuclear agreement. "We have not had any negotiations about our missile and defense capabilities and will not talk about these issues with others".
"We'll have plenty to talk about", he said, adding, "Our influence in the region is definitely positive".
"We think we can do that - we think we can do that together", U.K. Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said at a news conference alongside Tillerson in London on Monday.
Adebahr declined comment on a report in Der Spiegel magazine which said Germany, France and Britain were lobbying European allies to agree to fresh sanctions against Iran, to show Trump that were taking his concerns seriously. "It is also in our interest to counter the negative influence of Iran in the region", he said.
