Twitter account of Anupam Kher, Swapan Dasgupta hacked

Actor Anupam Kher's Twitter account was hacked, he told news agencies on Tuesday. Calling themselves Turkish "cyber army", the hackers tweeted messages from Kher's Twitter handle that confirmed the cyber crime. Among them is Rajya Sabha member of Parliament Swapan Dasgupta, from whom Mr Kher reportedly received a direct message on Twitter. We will notify affected account holders directly.

Other tweets which were sent across by their accounts were "I love Pakistan" tweets, among other tweets which were written in Turkish.

Confirming the news to The Indian Express, Kiran Bedi said: "My Twitter has been hacked". A first from him.

The hackers in few of the compromised account tweeted, "I love Pakistan". "Reminder: "do not click on links in DMs coming from unknown accounts", said Twitter in a warning after the hacking of accounts", Twitter was quoted by PTI. "So opened it. Have spoken to twitter already". Ram Madhav's account is yet to be retrieved. Dasgupta's account said that it had been briefly restricted. The hackers have changed Kher's twitter handle from AnupamPKher to AnupamPKherTC because of which the handle lost its verification badge.

Past year in January, the website of the National Security Guard (NSG), the Indian special forces unit combating terror activities, was also hacked posing unprecedented threat to national security.

Dasgupta's account too was suspended while Madhav's account was available with several tweets posted by Ayyildiz Tim, which had targeted supporters of US President Donald Trump in January.
