Later in his interview on Fox News, Gowdy aired skepticism for another narrative floated by lawmakers in Congress and President Donald Trump: that the Republican memo proves that the Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation were out to get Trump. "Just to make sure point by point we rebut what they have asserted, to show the seriousness of the investigation", Swalwell said, also pointing to the fact that the Democratic memo will undergo scrutiny from the DOJ and any information deemed too sensitive for release will be scrubbed as further evidence that it will not impact the investigation in a negative way.
On Feb. 2 the House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) released a memo declassified by President Trump that alleged abuses in the FBI's process of obtaining a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant for surveillance of a former Trump campaign adviser.
FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, in a letter to McGahn released by the White House on Friday, expressed concerns about the release of portions of the Democratic memo. And it does not address the fact that Page himself, testifying before the House Intelligence Committee in November, corroborated numerous Steele dossier's statements about his interactions with Russians in July 2016 when he traveled to Moscow. The FBI also paid Mr. Steele as an informant while Mr. Steele played them all like a harp, undermining both agencies. It was created for the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign with one objective - to discredit Trump as a presidential candidate.
Being able to see the FISA application without any partisan filters might shed light on why Page was considered worthy of wiretapping in an investigation into purported collusion with Russian Federation by the Trump campaign when Page had already left the campaign - and for an entire year after he had left.
From the White House to the hospital
The law enforcement agency, which protects the president, said in a statement that it was not responsible for escorting her off the premises.
He described the Democratic memo as "not as clean as the first one", suggesting that the White House could release it with redactions.
Schiff is constantly talking to reporters at The New York Times and other liberal dailies. Any time a FISA warrant is renewed, law enforcement officials have to prove that their surveillance yielded actionable intelligence. The memo asserts those seeking the warrant did not tell the judge about the fingerprints of the Democratic Party and Clinton campaign on the dossier. Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, are also planning to make make floor speeches to call on Republicans to end what they call a smear campaign against the Russian Federation investigation Tuesday evening.
Schiff argued the memo release would compromise methods and sources, but when it became public no methods or sources were exposed.
However, Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, has said the memo contains information that he would be "uncomfortable" with not being redacted by the White House.
"Part of what they are going to do is to talk about how the White House redacted their memo and didn't redact the Republican one", one Republican lawmaker told the Examiner.
