The security forces had launched the search operation after two militants were believed to have gone inside an abandoned building near the camp in the Karan Nagar area, Greater Kashmir reported.

Two militants carrying backpacks and AK 47 rifles were spotted by a CRPF personnel around 4.30 am as they approached the camp. A search operation around the camp has been initiated. However, the sentry opened fire, they said, adding the militants fled away. "They ran into the nearby building behind National School", said Yadav.

In yet another terrorist attack on Indian soil, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier has been martyred while the encounter between the militants and the security forces is underway at Karan Nagar here. Intermittent exchange of fire was heard at the location while CRPF has deployed more troops to ensure that none of the terrorists manage to escape.
