Here's what Canada did while you were sleeping on Day 5 of the 2018 Winter Olympics

Yun Sung Bin claimed a historic Olympic skeleton gold for Winter Games hosts South Korea on the nation's Lunar New Year holiday - the first sliding sport medal of any kind for an athlete outside Europe and North America. Yun was simply dominant.

Yun clocked a combined time of three minutes, 20.55 seconds for his four runs, with Nikita Tregubov, an Olympic Athlete From Russia, taking silver. Martins Dukurs of Latvia, who won silver in Sochi, is in third place, 0.88 seconds back of Yun.

Americans Matt Antoine, who won bronze in Sochi, and John Daly, finished Day 1 in 11th and 13, respectively.

"It has been my dream to win the gold medal since I started off in skeleton", the South Korean said after triumphing by a record margin of 1.63 seconds.

New Zealand advance to final despite two-run loss to England
Ross Taylor hit two sixes in an 18-run final over from Tye to propel New Zealand to their equal-highest T20 score. England have made three changes - but none of them involve a hasty return for Ben Stokes.

Canada's skip Kevin Koe throws a rock during a men's curling match against Italy at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Gangneung, South Korea, Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018. On his first run, he hit the wall coming out of the infamous ninth turn and struggled the rest of the run, essentially ending his shot at a medal.

This year marks the first time in more than a decade that the USOC has given Olympic medalists a raise.

Canada is holding strong in third place with 15 overall medals, while Netherlands (13) is the only other country to have double-digit athletes reaching the medal podium.

With only a potential disaster to stop him from securing gold, "Iron Man" again delivered the fastest run down the ice and thundered over the finish line at over 125 kph in front of a euphoric home crowd where he took off his helmet and gave a deep bow on his hands and knees. The top four teams will progress to the semi-finals of the competition.
