Google Tez Update: Utility Bill Payments Become Easy, Now Customers can Pay Bills on One Tap

Based on the Indian government-supported Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Tez is a simple and secure mobile application for advanced payments, worked with the objective of making computerized payments as simple as using the money.

A couple of months back, Google introduced a brand new mobile payments app exclusive to India. Users will also be able to view all past payments grouped by bill, as well as manage bills from multiple accounts. Google now supports over 80 billers (here's the list) from across the country, and, all the billers you have added can be found on the app's homescreen. Users need to just tap on New Payment and then pay bills. Once the biller of your choice has been located, simply enter the number associated with your bank account to link to Tez, and don't forget to give it a name that you can easily remember each time you want to pay your bill. Tez also supports Bharat BillPay system, which lets you fetch the latest bill from your providers. Users can as well search specific billers by name. The company has now partnered with 80 billers in India of various services and allows its users to pay their utility bills. "Today, we are adding a specially designed bill pay experience in Tez which will enable users to make a wide range of bill payments including electricity, water, gas, DTH, and insurance from the app", Diana Layfield, VP, Payments & Commerce, Next Billion Users at Google said in a statement. Google said in a blog post, "Paying your bills could be much simpler - and could save you a lot of time". When clients have connected their account, for most service charges Tez will consequently get any accessible bills. You'll see a list of billers supported on Tez across locations.

The app now has over 10 to 50 million downloads on the Google Play Store. To commemorate the launch of the apps' bill paying features, Google will hand out to Tez subscribers a scratch card for every bill paid using the app.
