The Broward County Sheriff visited the Parkland teen on Sunday.

Borges had reportedly been one of the last people to run into the classroom to hide from the shooter, Nikolas Cruz, and was trying to lock the door and block Cruz from getting to anyone else.

Anthony's dad, Royer Borges related the chilling call he received from his son.

The post also shared that while he is recovering, Borges will require additional surgeries to fix his body from taking the bullets. One bullet went through his back while his left upper thigh bone was shattered. "So, he took the initiative to just save his other classmates", Carlos Rodriguez, a close friend of Borges, told ABC News.

Roy Borges, Anthony's father, said that his son called him after he was wounded and described what happened. "Please join us in praying for the swift recovery of Anthony and all others from #StonemanDouglas", the office wrote in a tweet along with a touching photo of the sheriff's visit.

As of Saturday morning, five victims remain hospitalized from the shooting. His friend, Carlos Rodriguez, told ABC News that Borges was the last of the group of students to enter into the classroom.

"None of us knew what to do, " Rodriguez said. "I only ask that people pray for him".
