No school Friday at Dubuque Sr. High due to “potential threat”

Officials in a school district in Pennsylvania made a decision to cancel classes for Friday after an alleged threat was found at a high school.

The district said it will continue to post updates on its Facebook page here.

Last week, the St. Francis Police Department investigated a threat made by a St. Francis high school student the day after a mass shooting in a Parkland, Fla., high school.

Officials said an email was received late Thursday warning of a "threat to safety of those on the Blaine campus", officials said in a notice on the school district's website and in phone calls to parents and staff.

Thursday weather: Winter weather advisory in effect until 10 am
Forecasters at the Weather Service's Portland office say that snow showers will be decreasing this morning from north to south. With the storms, periods of rapid snow accumulations are expected on Donner and Echo Summit passes.

Toledo police say social media threats by someone identifying themselves as "B Shooter 15" prompted closings Friday at a high school and two middle schools at the Washington Local Schools in Toledo.

Authorities posted a message to the school's website Friday morning saying they believe there is no danger to anyone at the school, but more law enforcement will be present at the high school as a precaution.

Law enforcement staff are in the process of reaching out to other jurisdictions in an attempt to further consider common threads.

It is being investigated by Blaine Police.
