Volkswagen ID Vizzion concept debuts with Level 5 automation

VW plans 2022 release for I.D. VIZZION autonomous luxe-EV

VW ID Vizzion is what a car will look like in 2030 – with facial scanning, holographic screens and 400 miles of electric

The Volkswagen I.D. Vizzion concept borrows its design cues from other models of the I.D. family.

The concept also features the next generation of electric engines, promising a range of over 400 miles.

Furthermore, this concept blends the real and virtual worlds through the use of Microsoft's HoloLens - which can project holograms with which occupants can interact with via gesture control.

It will join production versions of the Volkswagen ID compact hatchback, the ID Crozz compact crossover, and the ID Buzz new Microbus concept that will be launched as both passenger and commercial vehicles.

With all of that going on, you probably won't pay much attention to what's powering the vehicle - which in this case is two electric motors delivering a system output of 225kW, fed by a 111 kWh battery created to provide a range of up to 665km between charges.

Trump says the tariffs are needed to protect domestic industries against unfair competition from China and elsewhere. In order to remove uncertainty, Brady urged the administration to exempt current steel and aluminum contracts.

The nearly entirely sealed grille indicates the presence of an electric powertrain, as is case for all the I.D. line of cars.

The ID Vizzion unveiled in Geneva is "the most personal, most emotional, and most individual Volkswagen of all times, according to Volkswagen brand head Herbert Diess".

Other unusual features built into the I.D. Vizzion concept include an OLED display system built into the rear window, and a matrix of LED lights embedded in its grille.

Like numerous company's concepts, especially at the high end, the ID Vizzion is equipped with all the hardware necessary for full self-driving capabilities as they are developed and put into production.

The Volkswagen I.D. Vizzion concept is based on the company's electric MEB platform. VIZZION may arrive by 2025 when fully automated driving on Level 5 is conceivable. In front, there is a 101 HP coaxial drive motor, whereas the one at the rear pushes out 201 HP for a total of 302 HP. Drivers will still have two rotary controls on the centre console to fully stop the auto if needed, and there are three different travel modes - Relax, Active and Family to keep you entertained during your ride. This makes for a low and wide appearing vehicle shaped as a conventional sedan with a defined hood, four-door passenger space, and rear deck. "Step-by-step, it will relieve the driver of tasks - if the driver so wishes". As soon as a guest activates "Relax" mode, a foot rest extends out and relaxed music is played; in this case, the ambient lighting switches to a warm colour.
