MUKESH AMBANI'S net worth has soared to United States dollars 40.1 Billion, making him the richest Indian for the 11th yr in a row, while Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, with a record fortune of $122 billion, toppled Bill Gates as the world's wealthiest person, says Forbes.
RIYADH (Reuters) - Forbes magazine said on Thursday it was excluding all Saudi Arabian tycoons from its annual list of the world's richest people after dozens of top businessmen from the oil-rich kingdom were detained in a crackdown on corruption past year. She was ranked 18th on the global list.
"Mukesh Ambani chairs and runs $51 billion [revenue] oil and gas giant Reliance Industries, among India's most valuable companies", Forbes said.
Other Macau notables on this year's list include gambling magnate Lui Che Woo, who climbed 59 places to come in at joint 50th with a net worth of $5.3 billion.
His wealth increased by $39.2 billion in previous year, as share prices of Amazon zoomed by 39% in the same period.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates ranked second with $90 billion, followed by Warren Buffett with $84 billion, French businessman Bernard Arnault with $72 billion, and Facebook CEO Marc Zuckerberg with $71 billion.
The combined net worth of this elite group is a whopping $9.1 trillion, up 18% since past year.

Unlike Trump, the majority of Bezos's fortune takes form in stock held in Amazon.
The elite group is worth over $11 trillion.
