The CBI on Wednesday moved a special court seeking permission to conduct narco analysis test on Karti Chidambaram, arrested in the INX media case.

Agency says it will confront him with "new facts".

Karti's name had cropped up in the case relating to the Foreign Investment Promotion Board's (FIPB) approval granted in 2007 for receipt of funds by INX Media when his father and Congress leader P Chidambaram was the finance minister during the previous UPA regime.

On Tuesday, the CBI had moved three applications in the court, one of which had asked for a narco test on Karti, son of senior Congress leader P Chidambaram.

The lawyer also asserted the CBI had not given a single ground or wrote any reason in its application for further remand. The court also posted the consideration of his bail plea to March 9.

Forces Korea issued in February regarding a plan to place a Gray Eagle drone unit into full operation by April 2019. However South Korean president Moon Jae-in downplayed optimism over Pyongyang's offer.

"The state government is ready to conduct Narco Analysis test on that accused (Karti) if the Centre asks us to do so", said Jadeja, who then listed many instances where different state governments, such as Himachal Pradesh and Chhatisgarh, had sought FSL's help in solving crimes.

CBI had produced Karti before Delhi High Court seeking an extension in police custody. The outcome of such tests is not an admissible piece of evidence in courts. "My duty is only to make myself available for questioning", Singhvi submitted. However, there has been a substantial progress in the matter; the CBI officials claimed that Karti is not cooperating in the investigation. An officer claimed that the CBI was hoping to get the password of three mobile phones found on Karti's premises previous year.

The CA was sent to jail on February 26 on expiry of his custodial interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which had arrested him on February 16 from a five-star hotel in the heart of the national capital.

"Karti is not a terrorist with a bomb that he can not be interrogated without keeping him in custody". The CBI has alleged that Karti received Rs 10 lakh as bribe for the FIPB clearance.
