The new benchmark set by the PRC box-office has comfortably dethroned the long-held record of North America's $1.395 billion gross of July 2011 when three tentpole Hollywood blockbusters including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and Captain America: The First Avenger wreaked havoc at the ticket window in the west.

And now it will be interesting to see if Salman succeeds in derailing Aamir's Dangal at the Box Office in China.

While an increasing number of filmmakers are looking at China as a strong market, the Kabir Khan-directed Bajrangi Bhaijaan opened on March 2 to huge success similar to its peers released earlier. The film has made more than Rs 18 crore ($2.8 million) on its opening day. Though Salman Khan is nowhere near the opening weekend record of Secret Superstar which was close to 175 crores. Bajrangi Bhaijaan also stars Kareena Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and child artiste Harshaali Malhotra. So the total so far is $8.45 million. The film garnered a peachy cumulative of 486 million yuan ($77 million) in its 13-day run in January.

The biggest beneficiary of Bollywood's penetration in China was Aamir Khan's last release, Secret Superstar. At FICCI-Frames a panel of speakers talking about the Chinese market for Indian films unanimously said that relatable content was the reason why Indian films have worked in China.

Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which released in China in over 8,000 screens by the name of Little Lolita Monkey God Uncle, has collected Rs 91.07 crore in just six days of its release and is set to cross the Rs 100 crore mark anytime soon.

Salman Khan Starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan released in China on 2nd March 2018.

Considering the fact the film released after 30 months of its actual worldwide release back in 2015, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is actually doing outstanding business.
