Meanwhile, the PTI chairman announced that he had handed over his party's 12 senators to Balochistan Chief Minister Bizenjo and authorised him to hold negotiations with other parties, considering them a block of 20 senators.

Imran Khan on Friday put weight behind Balochistan and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) candidates for election on the seats of Senate chairman and deputy chairman, ARY News reported.

Minister of State for Information, Marriyum Aurangzeb, on Saturday alleged that political rivals Imran Khan and Asif Zardari are engaged in horse trading in the upcoming polls for the Senate chairmanship.

Khan stated that he would leave no stone unturned to bar Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) from fielding their candidate as Senate chairman.

Nafisa Shah also responded to the Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif, who in one of his tweets had taunted the Charmian PTI Imran Khan and the Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari for seeking "Halala" to establish a political relationship through the Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo. We, therefore, will urge PPP co-chairman to review his decision and nominate Raza Rabbani as at the end of the day it is the leader of his own party who will be occupying Chairman Senate seat.

"PTI will never support PPP and PML-N in any circumstances", Imran affirmed. "We will see how we can accommodate Balochistan".

However, he said the PTI would not vote for the PPP and PML-N candidates.

With just two days remaining till the election to appoint the Senate chairman and deputy chairman, political parties have redoubled their efforts for the appointment of a candidate of their choice.

Mr Zardari claimed that the Balochistan chief minister had authorised him to take final decision regarding the nomination of the candidate for the Senate chairman, adding that he would not disappoint him.

To a question, he said there would be chances of horse-trading for election of chairman and deputy chairman of the Upper House.
