Three unidentified terrorists were today killed in an encounter with security forces in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag Altaf Khan told news agency GNS that the operation was launched based on the specific inputs about the presence of some militants inside a residential house.
While the search was going on the hiding terrorists fired upon the search party.
The encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Anantnag's Hakura in the early hours of Monday.
"The identity of the third militant is yet to be ascertained", the officer said. High speed internet facilities have also been curtailed.
