President Trump's longtime personal assistant was sacked and escorted out of the White House on Monday over security issues, according to multiple reports.

The investigation is not related to Trump, the sources added.

McEntee indicated to colleagues that there was an issue in his background that may have prevented him from gaining full security clearance and led to his dismissal, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday. McEntee was escorted from the White House on Monday after he was sacked over security concerns, two sources familiar with the matter told the Journal.

"It was announced today by the Trump Campaign that John McEntee will re-join the team and serve as the new Senior Advisor for campaign operations based in D.C." he tweeted. He was one of the president's longest serving aides and the entire family loves him.

Trump reelection campaign manager Brad Parscale announced McEntee's hire alongside that of Katrina Pierson, a Trump campaign spokesperson in 2016 who will join the 2020 campaign as a senior adviser.

McEntee was the first Trump official to be ousted from the White House this week. That means Kushner, whose portfolio includes the solving the Middle East peace process, no longer has regular access to the nation's most closely guarded secrets as the Federal Bureau of Investigation continues its almost 15-month review of his application for permanent clearance. "We need the help of porven leaders such as Katrina and John to promote the President's growing portfolio of achievements across the country".
