Claire Foy Got Paid LESS Than Matt Smith For The Crown

“No one gets paid more than the Queen,” say The Crown makers after Matt Smith earns more than Claire Foy

Despite the fact that Claire Foy was protraying Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix's "The Crown", producer Suzanne Mackie still confessed she got paid less than her onscreen husband Matt Smith. But Foy won't be around to enjoy it. Starting next season, a new cast will be playing "The Crown's" lead characters, with Olivia Colman taking over for Foy as Queen Elizabeth.

"Claire Foy has let me know I can call if I need to". Who on the hit series of the same name.

The Crown is one of the most expensive television shows ever produced, costing a reported $130 million (all figures US) for the first season. I suppose the argument could be made that Smith made more because he brought more star-power to the table.

We need to use the Claire Foy case to think about the universal implications of the pay gap, and the unsafe, roundabout ways in which it might be justified.

In response to the wage gap, producers of the show acknowledged that Smith did, indeed, make more.

Heavy snow showers possible later; another storm possible next week
The flight-tracking site FlightAware already reported more than 1,300 canceled flights within, into or out of the US on Tuesday. The National Weather Service said parts of MA could get up to 18 inches of snow and issued a coastal flood warning.

She added that many women don't realise how much men get paid, and this may explain the imbalance on The Crown.

Except that means it's a little late in the game for Foy, who wrapped her series run after the second season, which premiered in the fall.

The Netflix series traces Elizabeth's journey from princess to queen and through the early years of her reign, beginning in the 1950s. The producers initially pitched the show to Netflix bosses as a six-season series, with the cast changing three times.

The path certainly looks brighter for Foy's Season 3 and 4 replacement Olivia Colman, however.

Ms Foy, meanwhile, appears in the upcoming thriller Unsane, and will play the character of Lisbeth Salander (previously portrayed by Noomi Rapace and Rooney Mara) in The Girl in the Spider's Web.
