Harry Kane injury: Tottenham star out for MONTHS, World Cup dream in jeopardy

Tottenham have confirmed the extent of Harry Kane's injury, announcing that the striker will be out for about a month with ankle ligament damage.

The Spurs and England striker suffered the problem in Sunday's 4-1 win at Bournemouth and could not be scanned on Monday due to swelling on his injured right leg.

In spite of the latest injury news regarding Kane, Southgate will be optimistic over his striker options for this month's worldwide friendlies, with both Marcus Rashford and Jamie Vardy netting for their clubs at the weekend.

Harry Kane is out until May and faces a desperate battle to be fully fit for the World Cup.

England's first World Cup match is on 18 June against Tunisia.

Trump's announcement came only a few hours after Tillerson landed in Washington after a trip that had been cut short. The White House said that chief of staff John Kelly had previously told Tillerson he would be replaced.

And the Mirror are among several media sources reporting that Tottenham fear Kane will be ruled out until May at the earliest.

Kane will also miss England's two friendlies this month against Holland and Italy, with manager Gareth Southgate names his squad for that double-header on Thursday, March 14.

Those problems were of differing severity, however, with the first one keeping him out of 10 games, though he was able to return within a month of the second incident.

Kane would miss Spurs' FA Cup quarter final at Swansea on Saturday, and also a semi final if they progress and four league fixtures after the worldwide break.

The 24-year-old tried to play on, but was forced to come off and left the ground on crutches.
