New ESPN Service Tries to Catch Streaming Wave

New ESPN Service Tries to Catch Streaming Wave

ESPN+ launches Disney's $4.99 sports streaming service

Once enrolled, you will be greeted to thousands of programming, but rarely will you find any live sports - something we expect from ESPN.

Bryant will debut his new National Basketball Association analysis show "Detail: From the Mind of Kobe Bryant" when ESPN+ officially goes online Thursday. A large amount of this content it the type of stuff you could have been streaming for free on the Watch ESPN app until now. In short, ESPN+ services can be defined as a platform for "niche sports". It's worth noting that for leagues like MLB, NHL and MLS, ESPN+ will only be able to stream out-of-market games, and those will be picked by ESPN's programming team.

While Disney and ESPN have been previewing ESPN+ for a while now, and released numerous content details last week, they also brought reporters to ESPN's Bristol, Connecticut headquarters to lay out their vision and show off the app.

Cord cutters: you can subscribe to ESPN+ today, which costs $5 a month, and there's even a seven day trial. James Pitaro, ESPN president and co-chair of Disney Media Networks, called it "a central piece of our next era of innovation".

Anything exclusive to ESPN+ was marked with an orange icon, so if you're not a subscriber, at least you'll know when you're about to hit a paywall.

The Last Days of Knight, the latest installment in the 30 for 30 documentary series, is also premiering exclusively on ESPN+.

Taliban Kill a Governor and Overrun a Government Compound
The center of Khwaja Omari district is 10kms far from Ghazni City and shares a border with Jaghato district of Wardak province. Rahmani said the Taliban planted mines to stop reinforcements from coming to help the government forces fend off the attack.

College sports will range from 20 different athletic conferences across the country and other live sports include rugby, cricket, boxing, tennis and golf. It will also offer all archived "30 for 30" broadcasts.

"ESPN was built on a belief in innovation and the powerful connection between sports and a remarkable array of fans".

But what all of the early reviews - and leading up to its launch, Disney CEO Bob Iger - all emphasize is that ESPN+ is not ESPN and is not meant to replace ESPN. Teased earlier this month, the new app completely redesigns ESPN's interface.

So. What does ESPN+ give you? has confirmed the addition of the feature which will not only connect Apple TV users to various events, but will also alert subscribers to when games are about to begin.

"We spent a good deal of time on personalization - getting the right content to the right consumer at the right time", he said.
