A New Jersey production manager stepped out of obscurity on Friday to reveal himself as the newest millionaire-by-chance after a $2 Mega Millions ticket he bought at a gas station last month yielded him a jackpot of more than a half billion dollars. The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot is 1 in 303 million.

Wahl said he ran upstairs and told his wife, "We get to go on vacation!"

Mega Millions can be played in 44 U.S. states as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He said he first misread his chosen numbers on the lottery ticket, and only realized he won after looking at the numbers a second time.

It's the 10th largest lottery jackpot in US history. Gas station owner Ameer Krass received a $30,000 bonus for having sold the ticket.

"Hearty congratulations to New Jersey for their big Mega Millions win", Gordon Medenica, Mega Millions lead director and Maryland Lottery and Gaming Director, said in a statement after the drawing.

Businessman wins 'right to be forgotten' on Google in 'unprecedented' ruling
A United Kingdom judge has ruled that Google must honor a man's request to erase search results about him. But the move has sparked concerns about news stories and other previously public information being hidden.

They checked the numbers "at least 15 times", Wahl said, hugging and crying together over their good fortune, ABC 7 reported.

New Jersey Lottery held a news conference to announce the victor.

It's "life-changing money", he said, even though he has a good job with a steady income.

"For us, we believe God has a plan", Walh said. It's not only life changing money for me but it's life changing for others.
