Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley has been tasered and arrested by police after he became combative with officers after being found passed out in his vehicle.

The Eagles recently put out a statement, stating they are "gathering more information".

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the incident occurred at 6 a.m. ET on Sunday after Worley "became combative with police".

Worley was acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason in a trade that sent WR Torrey Smith to Carolina in March. A gun was reportedly recovered on the scene as well.

Worley was found passed out inside a vehicle that was blocking the highway at the intersection of Broad Street and Pattison Ave after someone called 911.

Worley, 23, was a third-round draft pick by the Panthers in 2016. Worley played in 16 games and started 11 as a rookie, recording one interception and nine passes defensed.

While in college at West Virginia, Worley pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault after a 2014 incident at a nightclub. Worley said then that he was defending his girlfriend.
