Mills already brought in another one of his Princeton teammates to run New York's player development - Craig Robinson - and, according to a Garden source, still would like to bring Blatt to the Knicks' sideline.
"I interviewed with [then team president] Phil [Jackson] and [then general manager] Steve Mills; we had a good couple days together". Former Knicks coach Mike Woodson said he hopes he's the latest in a long line of second chances in NY. The decision was handed down in light of a shaky record of 60-104 in two seasons since taking over in the position.
Metta inked a two-year deal with the Knicks in 2013; however, the team waived the National Basketball Association veteran less than a year later after buying out his contract. "Somebody calls me and gives me the opportunity to talk, I'd be happy to talk". He did so due to frustration over the drama and dysfunction surrounding the organization.
Last year's drama-filled offseason created concern that Kristaps Porzingis' time in NY would end before it could even truly begin. One of the stated priorities for a new coach, according to Perry, is he's "a very skilled communicator, a guy who can connect very well with his players".
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle finalise wedding photographer
Meghan Markle has made a brief return to the U.S. in order to apply for a United Kingdom visa. A source said: "Michelle had a hand in introducing Harry to Meghan, 36".
The Knicks and Porzingis are entering a pivotal offseason.
Porzingis repeatedly said that he's focused on his rehab from a torn ACL and not on the Knicks' coaching search. It is unclear if or how Porzingis' injury will impact their approach.
Nobody would fault the front office for waiting until next summer, especially when that can create additional cap room for the 2019 free agency class.
"It all depends on how I can come [back] from the injury and how I move", Porzingis said.
