Syria state television has confirmed its air defences are repelling attacks in the country's Homs region. Most of the missiles were downed, a Syrian military official said.
According to yet unconfirmed reports, the missiles entered Syrian airspace from Lebanon, which may indicate that the Israeli Air Force could have been involved, Al-Masdar News reports, citing a military source.

"There is no US military activity in that area at this time", the US Defense Department said, according to Reuters.
Asked about the missile attack, an Israeli military spokesman said, "We don't comment on such reports".
