- If you don't want to play a map, simply unselect it. However, ever since PUBG offered the harsh desert environment of Miramar as the second playable map in addition to the original, Erangel, there's been a consistent demand from players to be able to choose their map before joining a game.

One potential roadblock for the map selection feature in PUBG is when more maps are added to the game in the future, which could potentially split the community even more. Following heavy data analysis, however, it appears that won't be the case.

The feature is nearly ready to implement and as soon as it is, it will move into the test servers before going live for all on PC.

Some have expressed concern that giving players the ability to choose maps will make it take longer to get into a match, especially as 100 players are needed for a full game, but with concurrent players having regularly exceeded 2 million since October previous year, that's unlikely to be too much of an issue for a while yet.

Map selection debuts first on PC.

Armoured vehicles are coming to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds as part of a new, unannounced event mode.

This all comes during what has been a busy period of activity for PUBG as new modes like Tequila Sunrise and the respawn War Mode were recently added to the game. If it turns out that map selection isn't well-received by the community, PUBG Corp could remove it or modify it in the future, so fans should keep that in mind.
