Back in November, the American Idol victor made headlines after taking a nasty spill outside her home in Nashville.

Now that she's getting used to how her wounds have healed, Carrie seems to be getting back into step with her career as well - her new "Cry Pretty" single is already a Top 20 country hit!

The clearest of the two shows Underwood cheering on her husband, Nashville Predators player Mike Fisher, as his team plays in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

In an interview Thursday on the Bobby Bones Show, Underwood said about her return to the stage at last weekend's Academy of Country Music Awards, "Yeah [it was emotional]".

Underwood then went into details of her fall, she explained that it was because she missed one step. "I held on to the dog leashes in my left hand and I went to catch myself with the right".

"It was one step that messed everything up".

"I thought I just busted my lip".

Carrie Underwood, who recently returned to the stage for the first time since a serious injury a year ago, is just now opening up about how emotional the past few months have been.

"I mean, I don't think I hid. But, I don't know", she said. "I was lucky that when it happened everything was shutting down in the music world - we had the holidays".

Then, at the ACM Awards, she looked her usual glamorous self - and nearly exactly the same as she had before, so some viewers were confused about all the buildup. Instead, she found it "important" to get back out there and not let her injuries stop her from living normally.

"Someone's gonna creep up on me at the grocery store and people will be like 'What happened?' when they post it on Instagram", Underwood added. What's more, she was also awarded the "Vocal Event of the Year" Award alongside Keith Urban for their song The Fighter.
